Lit Asst

Lit Asst is an iPhone/iPad app developed to help brothers in the magazine & literature dept. to distribute monthly magazine orders and literature to Pioneers and Publishers. It keeps tract who has picked up their order, who wants to change their order and how many magazines or books to order from the Watchtower Society. Contact support@hitechbrothers.com with any questions.

iPhone/iPad

If you would like to test the iPhone/iPad version and become a team member in development for Lit Asst submit your name plus the Unique Device Identifier (UDID) for your iPhone or iPad. The UDID is a 40 character string that is tied to a single device, similar to a serial number. Up to 100 testers are allowed for the development team. Email to  support@hitechbrothers.com  This step is necessary in order to add your name to iPhone Developer Portal. I will then email an Ad Hoc provisioning profile to you to be installed on your iPhone or iPad.

To find out your device UDID using iTunes 7.7. or later, connect your device to your Mac or PC and launch iTunes. In iTunes, select your device in the Devices section and navigate to the Summary tab. Click on the Serial Number label to reveal the Identifier field and the 40 character UDID. Press Command+C or Control+C to copy the UDID.
After receiving the Ad Hoc provisioning profile. You need to install both files into iTunes to be able run the app on your device.

  1. Drag the provisioning profile (the file with the .provision extension) to the Library group.
  2. Drag the app with the .ipa extension to the Library group. The application appears in the Apps list.
  3. Sync your device.

If the version of iOS on your device is earlier than the test app development version, you will need to update your device with the current release of iOS.

Delete existing Literature app on your device if it keeps crashing on startup (reason: database scheme is not sync).

Some of the items I will be working on in the next version is:

  1. iPad compatibility
  2. iCloud syncing
  3. Load publishers from Address book
  4. Variable custom order intervals
  5. Localized fonts for foreign language
